The absence of HRH Eze Josiah Osuji for over five years on the shores of Nigeria and IMO state led to occupation and usurpation of the throne by so-called ‘Concerned Good Citizens of Obi Mbieri’ . These ‘concerned citizens’ are professional merchants of crisis that derives relevance and survival from chaos.
The Palace is now their till yard, where they eke a living and this has made them to continuously baking discord so that the mill churns oil to grease their mouth. You cannot find them on the side of trust, order, or peace, every peace move is a threat and foul play to them. The recent attack to the office of the Executive chairman of Mbaitoli LGA shows both Eze Osuji and these merchants of crisis who acts like Rottweilers are lawless and do not have respect for government of the state.
These ‘concerned citizens’ and family of Eze Osuji has held the stool to hostage, creating serious divisions and chaos in the six towns that comprised obi Mbieri and if not checked it will result to breakdown of peace and order in the community.
Who occupies the office of the traditional prime minister is not the issue here, what they people of Obi Mbieri is demanding is the whereabout of Eze Osuji and when and where such demand is made, the resultant effects is devastating, or better imagined.
Several demands by Obi Mbieri people to see him or talk with him for over three years now failed, even , obi Mbieri people that resides in America has requested to visit him wherever he is, but the family refused, rather they use the throne as a means to intimidate, threaten and create divisions that will take generations to heal.
Before Eze osuji get out of public spheres in 2020, he single handedly dissolved the Town Union Government and brought these ‘concerned citizens’ who ran the Town Union to a halt, which is now over two years of no Union Government. It pertinent to state that people of Obi Mbieri are not preoccupied with who occupies the TPM space; what is being demanded is a functional, legitimate Town Union Government that serves the collective interest of the community.
The Executive chairman of Mbaitoli in his wisdom constituted caretaker body to run the affairs of the community, but to the chagrin of all, the palace is questioning the right or authority of the office of the executive chairman to superintend on the affairs of the community, What a pity?
In obi Mbieri, no one sees Eze Osuji, the people are made to believe that he resides in America, hail and healthy, but remains incommunicado, but he writes and signs letters, dissolves, appoints and reappoints village heads, creates new ones in a jiffy. All these has made ndi Obi Mbieri to question his credibility to function as a traditional head and continuously demand his whereabout, but the merchants of crisis who uses the palace as till yard do not want that to happen.
At this juncture, this is a call for government of IMO state to intervene and demand for the status of Eze Osuji of Obi Mbieri in Mbaitoli LGA, IMO state for peace to reign.
