Tension grows as Obi Mbieri is set to meet Hon Ifunaya Nwanegwo, Mbaitoli LGA Executive Chairman on Tuesday January 27th 2026.

Tension is reportedly mounting in the Obi Mbieri area as Obi Mbieri people are set to meet with the Executive Chairman of the Mbaitoli LGA, Hon. Ifunaya Nwanegwo, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 @ 12 noon.

The highly anticipated meeting has sparked widespread speculation among residents and political observers, amid concerns over its potential implications for Obi Mbieri and ongoing political developments in the area.

On January 19, 2029, The Mbaitoli Chairman Hon. Ifunaya Nwanegwo made a historic and brave move and appointed an Interim Caretaker committee to handle the affairs of Obi Mbieri autonomous community until further notice. He mandated the Interim Administrator / Caretaker to oversee the general affairs of the Obi Mbieri autonomous community, maintain law and order, foster unity among the people and create a conducive environment for orderly administration.

Since the appointment of the Interim caretaker committee, no one has heard from the Eze of Obi Mbieri. The Eze have not responded and said a word. Rather those at the corridors of the Eze palace who have hijacked the Eze palace and arrogated powers to themselves have desperately voiced out their dissatisfaction.

Some stakeholders as well  have voiced out their unhappiness that the Eze have not yet addressed the Obi Mbieri people. This had worsened the entire situation and many stakeholders have started speculating that the Eze could be incapacitated.

According to Chief Donald Uzaru (Mezi Kanma 1 of Obi Mbieri) in an audio message to the Obi Mbieri Leaders of Thought platform, he said categorically that he is fighting for justice and fairness in Obi Mbieri and that is what he stands for. He said he stands on integrity. He added that nowadays there are no people of honor nor integrity. Integrity has been discarded and that is why people can do something without recourse to who they are and the family they originate from.

Growing up we met people with integrity which they cherish so much and they cannot accommodate something that is inappropriate. Especially among title men. But today the red cap holders are so cheap and no longer truthful. That’s the kind of people we have now in Obi Mbieri. He also made reference to the red cap holders at the gathering on January 25th at Orie Ebom Obi Mbieri organised by those that have hijacked the Eze palace. Men that were not supposed to be there. Men that were supposed to stand up for the truth. These men when they see A, they call it B.

He said that he had followed the story line from the time the TPM Chief Kyrian was appointed and later sacked by the same Eze in a very short time. Leading to court cases and all that. He said that this is unfair. What the law says is what we should follow. The legitimate TPM of Obi Mbieri today is Prof. Chief Kyrian and that is what the law says and that position has not been vacated. He is the TPM of Obi Mbieri.

The drama that is going on at Eze palace. The Eze said, the Eze said saga and we were told that Eze wrote a letter to Ugonna Achuko. Eze that we all know that he is not in good health. If you want to be blunt you can say the Eze is incapacitated, you are not wrong he added. That’s the same Eze they said that wrote a letter to Ugonna Achuko. These false narratives are powered by some group of people that had hijacked the palace and arrogated powers to themselves.

He added that the Eze J.N Osuji, the Ezeukwu 1 of Obi Mbieri is a good man but unfortunately people around him are taking advantage of his sickness. People are making money off him. Made worse by the Eze Children who are acting ignorantly.  Chief Donald Uzoaru added that in the history of Mbieri Ezeship is not hereditary. The Eze children are acting on the promise fed to them by those that have hijacked the palace and keep milking money off it. The people that have hijacked the Eze palace are desperate and they throw caution and wisdom to the dust because they are ready to do anything.

Chief Uzoaru therefore called for calm and asked Obi Mbieri people to come en masse to Mbaitoli LGA headquarters tomorrow January 27, @ 12 noon.
