Group echoes dissatisfaction at Mbaitoli Executive Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegwo appointment of Obi Mbieri Interim Caretaker Committee

A group called the concerned citizens of Obi Mbieri Autonomous community have echoed their dissatisfaction at the latest appointment of Obi Mbieri Autonomous community Interim Caretaker Committee by the Executive Chairman, Hon Ifunanya Nwanego. In a letter written by the group dated January 21, 2026, the group stated that the constitution/appointment of Caretaker Committee of the Town Union in Obi Mbieri Autonomous Community remains the sole constitutional functions of the Traditional Ruler of Obi Mbieri Autonomous Community HRH Eze Elder Dr. Josiah N Osuji, Ezeukwu 1 of Obi Mbieri Autonomous community inline with the provision of constitution and bye-law of Obi Mbieri Autonomous Community (2020 as amended.

In the same letter written by the group secretary, Mr Collins Opara. The group claimed that HRH Eze Elder Dr. Josiah N Osuji Ezeukwu 1 of Obi Mbieri Autonomous Community never in any invited the Mbaitoli LGA Chariman, Hon Ifunanya Nwanegwo to interfer in Obi Mbieri internal affairs.

The group therefore demand the Mbaitoli Chairman, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegwo to retract/withdraw the said letter within 7 from the date of receiving this letter with an unreserved apology letter to HRH Eze Elder Dr. Josiah Osuji, Ezeukwu 1 of Obi Mbieri Autonomous community and to the entire good and peace loving people of Obi Mbieri Autonomous Community.

The group further threatened that if the chairman fail to adhere to their demand, they will not have any other option than to institute a serious legal action against Mbaitoli LGA Chairman, Hon Ifunanya Nwanegwo
